Standards for Membership
Standards for membership in the Richland Upper Elementary School's chapter of the National Junior Beta Club must conform to the general features as laid down in the national constitution, and in all cases must be approved by the executive head of the school chapter.
The grade levels from which members will be chosen shall be fifth and sixth grades.
Grade and Leadership Characteristics are major factors when determining who becomes members of the RUES Jr. Beta Club.
Grades: Students must maintain an overall average of 88 (core subjects only) for each subject for each grading period while they are in the Jr. Beta Club. Students who receive a letter grade of "C" or fails to maintain the required average of 88 will be assigned to probationary status. The 2018-2019 Yearly average of grades determines the eligibility of each student. The first Semester grades from the 2019-2020 year will determine probationary status. Students who are placed on probationary status will be required to submit a copy of their progress reports and report cards for each nine weeks in order to determine their status of eligibility. It will be the student's responsibility to do this within a week of receiving their grades. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the club. If a member is removed due to grades, he/she may not re-enter Jr. Beta Club until 7th grade.
Leadership Characteristics: Students are expected to be representative for their school. Eligibility for RUES Jr. Beta is determined by no major write-ups, and no more than one minor or bus write-up. Classroom and office referrals will not be tolerated! Students can be placed on probationary status or removed from RUES Jr. Beta if their behavior continues to reflect negatively. Probationary status will be re-evaluated at the end of each nine weeks. RUES Jr. Beta students will adhere to the PBIS Guidelines - Respect, Understanding, Effort, and Safety.
RUES Jr. Beta Students will be responsible for leading by serving others.
